The beach is a stunning horseshoe shaped cove, surrounded by the rolling green hills of the South Hams countryside. The bay is quite sheltered, but still benefits from exceptional surf and breath taking views. The beach is sandy, a light stone that shimmers in the sunlight and moonlight if you are lucky enough to take a midnight walk by the waves.
What is so special about Challaborough Bay is that the holiday park is literally right next to the beach. This means that all the facilities are close by, many of which you can benefit from even if you are not staying in their accommodation. The Waterside Bar is difficult to resist as you wander off the beach at the end of the day, providing a beautiful sun trap to enjoy a drink or two as the bay gradually gets quieter and more special. Enjoy a cool drink as the last of the boats are pulled up the beach and the lifeguards pack up and go home.
As the heat of the day subsides, the smell of barbecues waft through the valley, and small children can be heard enjoying the freedom of this safe haven with their families nearby. Challaborough is a truly unique place where you can escape the pressures of the outside world.
